Monday March 5, 2012 - TATUM IS HOME!!!

Today is the day that we have been waiting for!!! Tatum got to come home!! We are so excited! We woke up in the morning and ate breakfast, spoke with Dr. Patel, he processed her discharge paperwork, and off we went! We were escorted out of the hospital by a couple of old ladies who are volunteers there and we put Tatum in her car seat in a cute red wagon that they pulled all the way out of the hospital. I am so bummed that I didn't get a picture of it but I was so excited and nervous to get out of there that I didn't even think of it. The car ride home was the longest ride of our lives. I was so nervous driving all the way down the 101 freeway with her in the car. When we brought her into the house, we let Roxy and Gabby sniff her and they acted really confused and nervous too. We had Tatum sleep in a bassinet/play yard that we bought for her to sleep in our room because I wanted her close. We all took a nap as soon as we got home because of the long night we had. Gabby paced and cried the whole time in from of the bassinet because she was just so nervous and unsure of what was happening. It will just take her time to get used to Tatum and realize that she isn't going anywhere. Ha! We are so excited to have our baby girl home with us and we are finally a family! We have waited for this day for a very long time and feel so overjoyed and so incredibly blessed that we had this enormous miracle. We hope to be the best parents that we can possibly be and always stand by our baby girl and do what's best for her. We both love her so very much and we couldn't be happier. We had a rough start with her in the hospital but now she's home and we can get settled in and try and get into a routine. I feel like the last 11 days was the super easy part and now the real challenge lies ahead. I can't wait to see how the rest of this goes!!! :)
